If you use public city transport, the starting point for getting to DAS Hostel is the bus stop named "Zabica", which is located 100 meters from the main bus station in Rijeka.

After a short walk of about 2 minutes to the station, you need to wait for the city bus lines number 2 or 8. Bus line no. 2 is available from 5 AM to 11 PM and departures every 20 minutes from Monday to Friday, and twice an hour on weekends. Bus line 8 departures once in an hour, from 6AM to 9PM during week and from 9AM to 3PM on weekends (for details see timetables). You can buy a bus ticket on the bus itself at a price of 1,55 €. Drive with a bus for 13 stops (less than 20 minutes), i.e., all the way to the "Trsat" bus station, where you get off the bus. When you get off the bus, you are less than 50 meters from DAS Hostel, so just follow the one-way street and on the right side you will see DAS HOSTEL. We are located on the first floor of the building, one floor above the "Beertija" pub. On the right from “Beertija” entrance you will see stairs, our sign and entrance doors.

by walking

(Duration: 45 minutes. Cost: lot of energy)

From main bus station or walking area in the center around Korzo you need to walk to the “Petar Kruzic stairway”. “Petar Kruzic stairway” is the stone stairway that leads from the city center to Trsat area where DAS Hostel is located. The stairway consists of 561 stone steps made in 16th century so think twice about using them if you are bringing heavy luggage or some kind of suitcase. Walking with a stairways takes around 30 minutes, without any breaks, which you will have for sure :) . When you finish climbing up with the stairways (congrats!) continue walking onto “Frankopanski trg” and then into the street Slavka Krautzeka. After 300 meters you will arrive to our address. We are located on the first floor of the building, one floor above the "Beertija" pub. On the right from “Beertija” entrance you will see stairs, our sign and entrance doors.

by airplane

(With shuttle bus option: Duration: 60 minutes. Cost: 12,05€)

If you are arriving from Rijeka Airport to DAS Hostel use following instructions. Traveling from Rijeka Airport to the city has few options: shuttle bus, taxi or rent a car. If you are using a taxi (price is around 30-40€) or renting a car then just follow the navigation to our address (DAS HOSTEL, Slavka Krautzeka 12). If you are coming to us by shuttle bus here are the instructions. You need to make a seat reservation on e-mail: information@rijeka-airport.hr, no later than 24 hours before the flight. Tickets are sold upon arrival inside the airport at the sale point and cost 9,50€. Shuttle bus/van drives around 40 minutes from Rijeka Airport to the city center.

When you take off from shuttle bus at the last stop (Jelacicev trg 3, Rijeka), walk for 290 meters into the bus station “Trznica”. At station “Trznica” wait for the bus line number 2. Bus line no. 2 is available from 5 AM to 11 PM that departures every 20 minutes from Monday to Friday, and twice an hour on weekends (for details see timetable). You can buy a bus ticket in the bus for 1,55 €. Drive with the bus for 10 stops (less than 15 minutes), i.e., all the way to the "Trsat" bus station, where you get off the bus. When you get off the bus, you are less than 50 meters from DAS Hostel, so just follow the one-way street and on the right side you will see DAS HOSTEL. by train

When you arrive on the main train station in Rijeka you just must leave the train station into the street where you will find a bus station.

At bus station in front of the train station wait for the city bus lines number 2 or 8. Bus line no. 2 is available from 5 AM to 11 PM that departures every 20 minutes from Monday to Friday, and twice an hour on weekends. by ferry

(Duration using local bus: 22 minutes. Cost: 1,55€)

After your arrival to ferry port Rijeka there are few options to get to DAS HOSTEL. You can take a taxi to our address (Slavka Krautzeka 12), city bus or walk which we do not recommend with luggage because of the stairway (for more see instructions for walking).

If you decided to take a bus, we have all the info you need. From ferry port Rijeka you need to firstly head west for 450 meters (about 6 minutes) where you will find bus station “Trznica”. There you need to wait for city bus line number 2. Bus line number 2 is available from 5 AM to 11 PM and departures every 20 minutes from Monday to Friday, and twice an hour during weekends (for details see timetable). You can buy a bus ticket on the bus itself at a price of 1,55 €. Drive with a bus for 11 stops (less than 15 minutes), i.e., all the way to the "Trsat" bus station, where you leave the bus. by car

(Duration: * minutes. Cost: 107.5g CO₂ per km)

Depending on which direction you are arriving from there are few ways to DAS HOSTEL.

Arrival from Zagreb/Split (with a highway)

After exiting highway on toll station “Grobnik” continue to road E65 for 9,3 km to Rijeka where you take the exit from E65 toward Rijeka/Centar/Orehovica. Continue on road Kačjak for 7,3 km and then take turn to the street Ul. Tome Strižića, then Ul. Drage Šćitara to street Slavka Krautzeka. From Slavka Krautzeka street turn left to the sport hall “Dvorana mladosti” where the free parking place is located, on address: Trg Viktora Bubnja.

Note: Slavka Krautzeka street is a one-way street so if you miss a turn to “Dvorana mladosti- Trg Viktora Bubnja” next to our hostel, you will have to go again around the area of Trsat to your location.

Arrival from Istria (with a highway)

After highway exit at “Učka” tunnel you need to follow E751 and A7/E61 to Kačjak in Rijeka. After around 26 km take the exit “Sušak” from A7/E61 road. Continue on Kačjak. Take a turn to Ul. Tome Strižića and after Ul. Drage Šćitara to street Slavka Krautzeka. From Slavka Krautzeka street turn left to the sport hall “Dvorana mladosti” where the free parking place is located, on address: Trg Viktora Bubnja.

Arrival from Italy or Slovenia (from border)

When you cross a border near place Rupa and you enter Croatia, head southeast toward Ilirska Bistrica- Jelšane/Jelšane/Route 6 for 40 meters and turn to E61 to Kačjak. After 28 km take the Sušak exit from E61 road. Continue on Kačjak. Take a turn to Ul. Tome Strižića and after Ul. Drage Šćitara to street Slavka Krautzeka. From Slavka Krautzeka street turn left to the sport hall “Dvorana mladosti” where the free parking place is located, on address: Trg Viktora Bubnja.

Arrival from Crikvenica (from local roads around the coast)

Driving from place on Adriatic coast means that you will be passing city Crikvenica along the way to Rijeka. After you pass city Crikvenica continue on road E65. Take A7 to D404 in Rijeka from which you will, after 20 km take an exit 9 from road E65. Then continue on road D404 for around 3 km where you take a turn to Ul. Tome Strižića, after Ul. Drage Šćitara to street Slavka Krautzeka. From Slavka Krautzeka street turn left to the sport hall “Dvorana mladosti” where the free parking place is located, on address: Trg Viktora Bubnja.

Since the fact that we do not have a private parking place here are some parking options. As we mentioned before, best solution is to leave your car on a free parking place next to the sport hall “Dvorana mladosti”. Good news is that this parking place is less than 40 meters from us!

Other parking option is to park your car on the one-way street in front of the hostel. This means that you park on the side of the road, which is allowed. However, this can be tricky because it happens often that there are no available places along the street. Since Slavka Krautzeka is a one-way street, if you don’t find a place to park, then you must drive all the way around to get back here.

From the parking place, next to the sport hall, you are less than 40 meters from DAS Hostel. All you need is to walk down the street and on the right side you will see DAS HOSTEL signs.
